Slow Down!

LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my days are numbered, and that my life is fleeing away.

My life is no longer than the width of my hand. An entire lifetime is just a moment to you; human existence is but a breath.

We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth for someone else to spend.

And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.
(Psalm 39:4-7)

The title of your last two posts, Slow down and Consider the Lilies tells me you are struggling with some stress issues....

Hope it gets better. Remember you control your reaction to things. (she says though she is really talking to herself...)

How perceptive you are! Yes, it's been a stressful few days, mainly work and car issues. But good news, yesterday I was able to get my car fixed for FREE, and I also got a major project nearly completed (hopefully can get it to the printer today). So that was a huge relief to have both of those work out yesterday.

You're right, I control my reactions to stress. And I think that sometimes God allows me to experience this stress so that my (hopefully godly) reaction will be a witness for those I work with. I'd like to think that if things hadn't worked out yesterday, that I'd still have this peace that I feel today...

Connected to your blog through Donna. Sounds like we have some similar issues, although I hope not my procrastination. I teach public relations at the college level, by the way.
