This snow day is coming at a perfect time. We just wrapped up our winter board meeting earlier this week, the preparation of which, along with a few other projects, consumed nearly every waking hour of mine for the past few weeks. Since the first of January we've been in full-tilt go mode. On more nights than I care to count I've come home completely brainfried and wanting to do nothing more than veg out for a couple of hours before hitting the hay.
I am incredibly thankful that this snow day has come right after our board meeting as opposed to right before it. God is so good. And I've enjoyed spending today doing very little. I slept in (til 7:00 a.m.--still early for most but considered sleeping in for me!). I enjoyed my leisurely cup of coffee while catching up on the news. I've baked a few batches of cookies and lounged around in my sweats and checked email and Facebook and just generally relaxed.
Tomorrow the snow will have melted. Tomorrow I'll be a little more productive; I'm planning to work on my taxes with the help of my dad and enjoy dinner with my parents, among other activities. But today I'm watching the snow fall and savoring this well-timed, badly needed day off.

We got enough to be pretty falling, but it melted as it hit. Not only did I not get a snow day, but we are working Monday....who ever said "banking hours" as a positive thing did not know my bank....
Donna, if it's any consolation, we have to work Monday too. :)
